VEID is an LA-based independent pop artist from Dallas, Texas. He was born in New Orleans and grew up surrounded by the sounds of jazz and soulful music. He knew very early on that music was what he was called to do. He kept songbooks as early as he could read and write, and at the age of 8, he learned Für Elise by ear on a 61-key keyboard gifted to him by his parents for Christmas. He went on to learn classical piano, which would become the bedrock of VEID’s songwriting process, even after establishing himself as an experimental producer in his music.
In 2019, VEID released his debut EP, ‘king.' ‘king.’ told a short story of VEID’s young adulthood - it acted as an immortal affirmation that he could always return to. His experimental and electronic influence can be heard from the beginning, with tracks like ‘friend,’ ‘king interlude’ and ‘breathe.’
Continuing to develop his artistry after moving to LA, VEID began performing at various bars and venues around the city, establishing his local fanbase with his captivating stage presence. His sound drew inspiration from Prince, Ariana Grande, and Sickick, fusing these generational sounds all into one: 80s, pop, with a thick electronic body. This futuristic sound combined with VEID’s vocal range and acrobatics position him as someone capable of making waves in the underground scene.
